The Symbolism of Bumble Bees And Finding Balance

As summer approaches, so do all living creatures that have been in hiding during the cold winter months. All beautiful, but some, not so inviting. Take the Bumble Bee 🐝 for example... Interesting to watch buzz around, but not something I'd want to close to me. In fact, I've never seen a Bumble Bee 🐝 try and get into the house so much, as I have this year. When I go outside, they buzz around me or stay at the door to greet me (scare me to death more like it! lol). They go up to each window, one after the other, trying to take a peek or get my attention. I've never seen anything like it before. I don't know who's vying for more attention, the Robin or the Bumble Bee, lol.

So I thought that I'd look up the symbolic meaning of the Bumble Bee 🐝 to see what it might mean, just to cover all bases, and what I found was so on par.

"When a bee 🐝 appears in your life the most common message it carries has to do with your levels of productivity. In some cases we are doing too much, and in others not enough. Bee spirit has a strong work ethic but it also knows the importance of stopping and smelling the flowers. There is a time to enjoy life's nectar and time to grab after the proverbial brass ring with vehemence. Bees help with both and in finding the delicate balance between the two."

This is so true with all of us. There are so many things that we have to balance in our lives; work, family, play, leisure, relaxation, caring for others, caring for ourselves, social consciousness, political consciousness, environmental consciousness, religious beliefs and activities, physical needs… to name only a few of the issues most of us are balancing, often without realizing it, all of the time. “Finding balance” in our lives is so important, yet so hard, that there are mountains of books and articles about it.

Keep in mind that balance is not a final goal, but an ongoing process. Being balanced doesn't mean being calm, relaxed, and content all of the time. It often occurs only briefly, but it can reappear over and over again. Rather than trying to stay balanced, think of yourself as practicing balancing, over and over again. I love that many yoga teachers talk about yoga as a “practice", the goal is not to become great at it, but to keep practicing it. You often hear the comment that it’s good to fall because it means you were trying. The same is true in life. As long as we keep practicing finding balance, we will find one. Of course, we will lose it. But we will find it again. 🌸🐝🌸
